About me
I am an incoming PhD student in the Department of Public History at North Carolina State University. My research focuses on Irish America - particularly the American South - during the Irish revolutionary period.
I received my MA in Irish and Irish American Studies from New York University in 2019. My thesis, written under the supervision of Dr. Marion R. Casey, was titled, “An Education in Americanism: Éamon de Valera's Tour of the Southern United States, 1919-1920.”
I have extensive experience in academic administration, holding positions with Trinity College Dublin, The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and The Institute of International Education. My most recent position is with Glucksman Ireland House NYU, organizing the department’s calendar of public and scholarly events.
I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and earned my BA in English from NC State. Outside of my work, I enjoy creative writing, photography, and spending time outside.
After studying and working in New York City for eight years, I am thrilled to return to Raleigh to continue my studies and escape those cold winters.
